Another Filipino community here in Kuwait celebrated their founding anniversary; Pilipino sa Kuwait (PSK) recently marked its second anniversary in late October with the theme “ Anibersaryo para sa Kapwa OFW (Maagang Pamasko para sa distressed OFW).”
The event was held at the POLO OWWA in Faiha starting at 9 o’clock in the morning. A program hosted by DJs Billy, Mina, and Eljan entertained our fellow OFWs who took shelter at the Philippine Embassy some time ago. Song and dance performances were a delight to watch, and so were the games played wherein the winners were able to have free calls to their loved ones in the Philippines. Two scholarship grants were likewise given to other winners.
The distribution of gifts, lunch, and dancing hours followed thereafter.
Prior to this event, the officers of PSK held a successful fund drive wherein generous donors from fellow Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and expatriates donated rice, canned goods, medicines, things for hygienic purposes, and even new clothes.
Pilipino sa Kuwait Officers 2012 are as follows; President – Eliezer Embrado, Vice Pres. – Antonio Paguibitan Jr., Secretary – Normina Buka, Treasurer – Monaliza Fernandez, PRO – Luceno Daus, Auditor – Salda Abedin.
Area Coordinators (Salmiya) – Elmarie Conception, Manuel Garcia, Darwin Pon-an, Caren Bisares (Farwaniyah) – Denard Guirdaquibil Jr. Event Coordinators – Juan Miguel, Vhin Mangulabnan, Paulo Angelo Alagao. Advisers – Anixie Abayon, Gerry Palos Brioso, Peter June Dadios, Jeanice Granada.
