Just like in the Philippines, the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia which houses the Holy Family Cathedral Parish celebrates the Feast of Santo Nino here in the State of Kuwait. With over 160,000 Filipinos in this place, the show of support for the festivities was remarkable.
The faithful and devotees of Santo Nino gathered altogether at the Cathedral grounds, shortly after lunch to start the commemoration through a procession where parish organizations and lay people actively participated. The colorful costumes of the faithful with their street dancing motion, added excitement and happiness to the occasion.

The history of the devotion was shared by Rev. Fr. Ramon C. Atanacio, OFM Capuchin (Parish Priest) followed by the praying of the most Holy Rosary and Novena led by Bro, Robert Ril and Sis. Minerva Ril.

At three o’clock in the afternoon, a Tagalog mass was celebrated where during the Offertory, children wore Ati – Atihan costumes and a blessing of infants, children and images of Santo Nino was symbolical of the event.
To close the festivities, free snacks was served at the Grotto of the Cathedral.
As one elder Filipino expatriate shared, “I feel very grateful for still being able to celebrate the Feast of Santo Nino even if I am far away from the Philippines. I can happily say ‘Viva Pit Senyor Santo Nino!”
Peace and love to you.
