Join us as we gain insights from the individuals at the forefront of TSOK’s transformative work, exploring their experiences, aspirations, and the impact they make on the OFW community in Kuwait.

What is the mission and purpose of TSOK?

Calamdag:

TSOK envisions that all its OFW members here in Kuwait will have the power to create opportunities for themselves and their families. The goal is to realize the full potential of everyone through full participation to drive a new era of development, growth, and productivity.

Anna Fe:

TSOK’s mission is to protect and promote the well-being of its members. It aims to have a representative body capable of developing a group opinion on professional matters and assisting non-board members in documentation and preparation for the PRC-SPLE program. Additionally, it strives to foster good fellowship among its members.

Blaza:

The goal is to assist members, particularly non-passers, in taking the exam and becoming licensed professional teachers.

How do officers of TSOK collaborate and work together to achieve the organization’s goals?

Grande:

I feel that working well with TSOK officers can boost my drive and degree of involvement with the organization. Brainstorming and idea sharing help create unique solutions. We establish goals and procedures for completing tasks or projects. We acknowledge the work of others and give fair credit where it is deserved. We recognize barriers and work together to solve issues. We prioritize achieving group objectives over individual fulfillment and acclaim.

Blaza:

During SPLE (Special Professional Licensure Examination), the seasoned officers help each other. We divide ourselves into 2 or 3 groups to take duty in different places or areas, including Fahaheel, Salmiya, and Farwaniya, just to cater to the aspiring associate members. Some are responsible for handling documents, while others collect fees. Did you know that the officers also provide review to the examinees? This is invaluable, but yes, we do it as officers to help the examinees pass the exam. Sparing time to help them boosts their confidence.

Calamdag:

Follow the rules and regulations and unite as one. Be responsible and be kind.

Anna Fe:

By having meetings on that meetings we shared different opinions and choose what best for the success of any TSOK activities.

What qualifications and experience are typically required to become an officer of TSOK?

Anna Fe:

He/she should be an active member of the org.

Calamdag:

Be true to yourself and fulfill your duties and responsibilities. Have good time management skills.

Blaza:

To become an officer, you must be an LPT (Licensed Professional Teacher). However, due to work conflicts, since we are OFWs, some passers can’t participate actively. This is the reason why some of us end up taking non-passers to fill up vacant positions. But, the president and vice president must be an LPT or a licensed Professional Teacher.

What are some of the major initiatives or projects that officers of TSOK are currently working on?

Blaza:

Officers will be conducting community service in Philippine School Jileeb branch in December.

Anna Fe:

The recently SPLE -LET, out of 150 examinees 34 successful teachers passed.

How does TSOK promote teamwork and collaboration among its officers?

Grande:

TSOK promotes teamwork and collaboration among its officers by encouraging them to cooperate in order to achieve shared goals. The organization takes action to ensure that officers appreciate each other, effectively contribute their talents and skills to projects, and maintain an efficient workflow.

Calamdag:

We have a group chat and an FB PAGE to promote events and future happenings.

Blaza:

As an OFW and an officer of the organization, it’s not easy; your body, mind, and soul are divided. “With great power comes great responsibility,” as they say. Whether you like it or not, you need to work.

Anna Fe:

Respecting and helping each other for the common good of all.

Anna Fe:

As an Assistant Secretary, my duties include keeping and maintaining all the records and documents of TSOK, preparing and filing minutes of TSOK meetings, sending required notices, distributing information to all TSOK members, and performing other duties as assigned by the president.

Blaza:

Organization is the source of information by its members. To facilitate communication and coordination between organizational members so that the transformation can takes place. The president is the one who has a direct contact with the (PPO) Philippine Professional Organization, any information given by the PPO, the president must inform his/her officers help disseminating the information to the members.
