The Teachers Specialist Organization in Kuwait: The History of Passion and Dedication in Education

Teachers Specialist Organization in Kuwait

“Teaching creates all other professions”

Teachers – Specialist Organization in Kuwait had its initial conception during a conference of teachers held at the American Creativity Academy in Hawally.  Ms. Flora, Ms. Dolly, Ms. Norhaya and Mr. Honesto talked about the possibility of having an organization for teachers here in Kuwait.

The Teachers Specialist Organization in Kuwait (TSOK) has a rich history rooted in passion and dedication to the teaching profession. Its journey began on Labor Day, May 1, 2014, with an initial meeting held at McDonald’s Salmiya following a beach clean-up drive. This gathering brought together educators who shared a common goal: to create a supportive and professional organization dedicated to uplifting Filipino teachers in Kuwait. Among the attendees were teachers and staff from the Ideal Education School, each contributing their knowledge and commitment to laying the foundation of TSOK.

One of the organization’s pioneering figures was Ms. Erlinda, who served as TSOK’s first secretary. She played a significant role in structuring the organization, ensuring its sustainability, and fostering a culture of collaboration among members. To strengthen its network and establish its presence within the Filipino community, TSOK engaged in a series of meetings with the Philippine Professional Organization (PPO) Kuwait and other Filipino community leaders. These strategic partnerships allowed TSOK to expand its reach and provide valuable resources to its members.

A significant milestone in TSOK’s history was the drafting of its constitution and by-laws, a crucial step that solidified the organization’s principles and objectives. This document served as a guide to uphold the organization’s values and maintain a structured approach to achieving its goals. The key officers of TSOK, along with dedicated members, worked diligently to ensure that the organization had a strong legal and ethical foundation.

Perhaps TSOK’s most remarkable achievement to date is the facilitation of the Special Professional Licensure Board Examination (SPLE), which has empowered numerous educators to achieve professional licensure. The successful board passers who have attained their credentials through TSOK’s support are as follows:

Bachelor in Secondary Education (BSED):

  • Arancon, Charmaine Sipron

  • Honesto Doctolero Jr.

  • Balilla Estinoso

  • Remedios Escamis Zaulda

  • Vincent Rey

Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEEd):

  • Lachica, Elvira Valcoba

  • Lagundi, Hazel Valdez

TSOK Founders

TSOK’s mission and vision draw inspiration from the Department of Education in the Philippines, aspiring to develop professionals who embody compassion, humanity, and an unwavering commitment to their students. To assist and help its non-board members in documentation and preparation for the PRC-SPLE program and to foster good fellowship among members. The organization’s dedication to this vision is exemplified through continuous efforts, including producing licensed teachers and undertaking impactful advocacy such as feeding programs, pathway construction, and school supply donations.
