I’ am an OFW in Kuwait who works really hard to earn for my family. I’ am aware that it is not easy for us, OFWs to save a lot of money because of our various necessities and cost of living. So, I’ am doing my best to balance my cost and my savings. We all know that working and being an OFW is not a stable or permanent job that we can consider particularly when we grow old. And, working overseas can expose us to numerous accidents. So, what better way to secure yourself and your family is to apply for SSS?
What does SSS do? The Social Security System (SSS) provides various coverage programs and insurance benefits. One of the basic pension programs that SSS has is the Regular OFW Coverage Program which provides assistance and a source of income after retirement. OFW members can experience different benefits (ranging from sickness, maternity, retirement to funeral) and various loan privileges (such as salary, housing, house repair/improvement). This program covers all OFWs aged below 60 years old. SSS also offers the Flexi-fund Program that grants OFW members a pension as well as a savings plan.
I’ am a member of SSS. And I’ve been paying contributions for more than a year now. As a member of SSS, I feel more secure and happy with their benefits and the securities they offer. I could also apply for loans if I needed to.
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” -Colossians 3:8
Why I became a member of SSS because I trust them, and you should too. I believe you have the right to its benefits. SSS is not just for you but for your family as well.
Kabayan, always remember that whatever decisions you have to make it is best to ask God for guidance.
