Despite the hardships brought about by World War II, the OAP endured, reorganizing in 1946 and becoming a non-stock corporation by 1948.

A significant milestone was achieved in 1976, with the establishment of the Samahan ng Optometrist sa Pilipinas (SOP), aimed at integrating all Filipino optometrists under one umbrella. This goal was fully realized in 1979, when President Ferdinand Marcos issued a Presidential Decree, mandating professional unification. Through this decree, the SOP-PAOI gained official recognition from the PRC, further strengthening the professional landscape of optometry in the country.

Recognizing the importance of continued professional engagement, former members and new optometrists in Kuwait restructured the organization under the name AFOK in 2016.

This chapter thrived until 2022, when discussions on merging AFOK with IPAO gained momentum following the resumption of face-to-face meetings post-pandemic. The decision to consolidate both organizations was finalized on March 15, 2024, and the newly rebranded IPAO Kuwait Chapter was officially registered with the Philippine Embassy on April 18, 2024. Shortly thereafter, it received official affiliation with the National Chapter of IPAO on May 17, 2024.
