The Saranggola Blog Awards was launched on July 8, 2009 as an online contest for poetry, short story and children’s story. It is open to all Filipino bloggers, 18 years old and above, staying in the Philippines, or leaving overseas. Its main purpose is to encourage all Filipino bloggers to write compositions in Filipino and publish them on the web to become references and sources of inspiration for young people.
Annually, bloggers prepare themselves for this aspiration that even the minimal amount of prizes do not hamper their desire to write and share. Yearly too, the theme changes and from which, blogs are being developed.
