Bible Reflection
“My lord king, these men have been at fault in all they have done to the prophet Jeremiah, casting him into the cistern…” – Jeremiah 38:8-9
As Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) not only here in Kuwait, but all over the Middle East and the world in general, let us try to do our best in our respective jobs. It should not matter if we work for a well- known multi-national company as an executive, or one of the skilled workers who comprise the team to create something very useful, or a patient and hardworking domestic helper. The most important truth is how we can extend ourselves beyond what people expect us to do. Let us all try to be an extension of God’s mercy and love for everyone. We can start by doing simple good deeds like not gossiping about some kabayans who may be troubled in one way or the other. If we cannot help them financially, emotionally, psychologically, let us pray for them and give them privacy. If someone is in need and we know deep in our hearts that we can give even just a bit of help, that will surely be of great assistance to them. We are all equal in the eyes of the Lord, so why not start looking at our kabayans in equal level.
