You might be wondering why my blog’s title is snowflakes? It never snows in Kuwait but I’d like to say that from very fine particles, snowflakes can make beautiful ice crystals, cause a road block and even an avalanche.
Teamwork is somewhat similar too. If there is good teamwork production is not only top of the line, but most efficient too. Whereas if there is no teamwork, confusion, imbalance and poor results are the down side.
Here are a few but effective tips that I want to share with everyone;
Leadership – Choose a leader who has the ability and the heart to inspire, motivate and encourage the team to move forward, move further towards the right direction.
Keep everything as clear as possible – It is very important to let every member of the team know about the goals set, the purpose of the group and projected accomplishments. In this way, people will find it easier to keep their focus.
Be responsible – Each member needs to know his responsibility and what is expected of him. Only when each of them is willing to cooperate and exert their best effort, can achievement be gained.
Listen – It is very important to know how to listen when a team member wants to share his / her idea in the group setting. It will not hurt to be supportive and to stay positive. It is inevitable that some negative feedback and criticism will surface. Treat these in a professional and respectful way. Listening objectively to someone’s idea will allow them to have confidence in themselves.
Differing strengths and weaknesses – Some team members have hidden talents waiting to be discovered. Give chances to these team members in order for them to enhance their skills. Help then strengthen their confidence and morale.
When teamwork flows smoothly from one member to the other the work environment has the feel of home where everyone is accepted and nurtured.
