Admittedly, children are my weakness…especially children who know how to dance, sing or do any form of art. They are not only entertaining but truly amazing. That’s how I felt during my emcee task at Biritan Kids 2016. Biritan Kids is one of the highlights of the 118th Philippine Independence Day Celebration in Kuwait held at Al Qadsiya Gymnasium in Hawally. With my emcee partner Mr. Rolly Balubal Ternate, I was guided by the program on my hand but with improvisation here and there to maintain audience interest and of course, to keep the show lively. The best parts of the program for me were all the performances of the children young as they were, all confident, unassuming, giving their best showcase of talents and not allowing themselves the pressure of winning.

My task today reminded me that it is always possible not to put pressure on ourselves for as long as we do not do harm to others, step on people just to reach our goal. We should never let go of the child in each one of us. To The Bikolanos in Kuwait (TBIK) and Filipino Association for Music and Arts (FAMA), most especially to my emcee partner, Mr. Rolly Balubal Ternate, thank you very much for the opportunity.
