FILIPINO COMMUNITY IN KUWAIT: Celebrating Great Accomplishments
MUST WATCH!!! FILIPINO COMMUNITY IN KUWAIT ON A MISSION
In the face of disaster, the Filipino spirit remains unshaken — rising with resilience, compassion, and unity.
In 2019, a powerful earthquake struck Region XI (Davao) and Region XII (SOCCSKSARGEN) in the Philippines, resulting in the loss of 13 lives and injuring over 210 individuals. The devastation displaced more than 131,000 people, pushing families out of their homes and into 58 evacuation centers or open spaces, often near barangay halls and churches.
According to the Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC), nearly 37,000 evacuees sought shelter in government-run centers, while 94,000+ stayed with host families or in improvised tents — many of them still reeling from emotional and psychological trauma as aftershocks continued to strike.
This tragedy highlights the Philippines’ vulnerability to earthquakes, given its location along the Pacific Ring of Fire. Fortunately, global and local organizations, including Save the Children, have long been at the forefront of providing aid and protection for children and families affected by such calamities.
FILCOM Kuwait: A Heartfelt Response from Overseas Filipinos
Deeply saddened by the scale of suffering, the Filipino Community (FILCOM) in Kuwait quickly mobilized to provide relief and support to our fellow kababayans in the affected regions.
Through monetary donations, contributed by generous individuals and organizations across Kuwait, FILCOM has been able to respond to urgent recovery needs. More than just a short-term response, this effort reflects a long-term commitment to rebuilding lives and restoring dignity.
🎯 FILCOM’s mission: To help rebuild communities by fostering safe, healthy, and sustainable environments for families — especially vulnerable children.
Donations are directed toward:
-
🍽️ Food and nutrition support
-
💼 Livelihood assistance
-
👨👩👧👦 Community rebuilding initiatives
By investing in these areas, FILCOM empowers affected families to regain independence, rebuild hope, and become productive members of their new communities.
A Message of Solidarity and Gratitude
“We may be far from home, but our hearts are always with our kababayans. Together, we can lift the burdens of others and show the world the power of Filipino compassion.”
— FILCOM Kuwait Representative
Together, We Make a Difference
Disasters may shake the ground beneath us, but they also awaken the unshakable Bayanihan spirit — proving that when Filipinos unite, there is no challenge too great.
Every donation, every act of kindness, no matter how small, brings healing and hope to those in need.
🙏 To all who gave and continue to support — maraming salamat po. You are part of this mission of love and resilience.
Voices of Unity and Gratitude
“We can’t do this without you! It is a joy and an honor to partner with everyone in an effort to help our kababayans. Thank you for being a part of this!”
— Mr. Oliver Diong, Filipino Community President
“Thank you for joining us in responding to the cries of our compatriots. Any burden becomes lighter as we all come together to lift it.”
— Mr. Xavier Hernandez, Filipino Community BOD.
Every Bit of Kindness Matters
Do your little bit of good where you are; it is those little bits of good put all together that overwhelm the world.
These words ring true as we witness the collective power of compassion. Whether big or small, every effort counts — and your support makes a world of difference.
God bless you for being a beacon of hope.
