SCHOLARSHIPS FOR OFW DEPENDENTS – Table of Contents
Every Overseas Filipino Workers aims to give educational support to their dependents that’s why they decided to work abroad. Our OFWs work hard to give support to their family especially in terms of educational support. We all believe that education is the key to success that’s why we work hard for our family to attain successful lives. However, it’s hard to earn money in an instant and some opportunities are not available to earn more. It’s even harder and added some financial burden since the COVID-19 Pandemic hit the world. Luckily, some government organizations and non-government organizations are willing to support OFWs to provide educational assistance to achieve their desired success.
One of the most well-known government agencies that provides scholarships to OFW dependents is the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). As an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), OWWA is dedicated to protecting and promoting the welfare of Filipino workers abroad and their families back home. Beyond providing insurance and repatriation assistance, OWWA also offers a variety of educational support programs specifically designed to help OFW dependents achieve academic success.
OWWA’s scholarship programs are meant to ease the financial burden of schooling for OFW families. These programs are designed not only to provide monetary assistance but also to empower beneficiaries to pursue their dreams with confidence and determination. Through these initiatives, OWWA aims to honor the sacrifices of Filipino workers by ensuring that their dependents have every opportunity to succeed in life.
Here are some of the scholarship and education programs offered by OWWA that OFW dependents can apply for. These programs vary in coverage, eligibility requirements, and benefits, but all are focused on helping students continue their education without being hindered by financial difficulties:

Let us continue to honor the sacrifices of our OFWs by making use of these opportunities and sharing them with others who may benefit. These scholarships are not only a tribute to their hard work but also a promise of hope and progress for the families they leave behind.
