On January 14, 2022, the Social Security system began offering the Calamity Assistance Package for members and retirees. The Calamity Assistance Package, according to President and Chief Executive Officer Aurora C. Ignacio, consists of the Calamity Loan Assistance Program (CLAP) and Direct House Repair and Improvement Loan for members, as well as a three-month advance pension for pensioners in areas affected by typhoon Odette, as declared by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council
MIMAROPA, the Western Visayas, the Central Visayas, the Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and CARAGA are some of the locations that may be eligible for the Calamity Assistance Package. The Calamity Loan Assistance Program provides qualified members with a loan in the amount they applied for as long as it was equal to or less than their one-month salary credit, which was calculated using the average of their previous 12 monthly credits. To be eligible for the three-month advance pension, retirees must be residents of the typhoon-affected districts and have no outstanding loans.
