When the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world, everyone pivoted on the fervent strength of our healthcare frontliners to handle the situation efficiently. These are our noble doctors, nurses, medical technicians, nursing aids, and respiratory therapists of our nation.
They are the people who put on calm faces with their snow-white uniforms as they comprehensively check your overall health. They are our noble modern heroes at the forefront in this pandemic battle. No matter what country they are currently employed, our Filipino healthcare workers exhibited a strong sense of duty and devotion as they face extreme risks of COVID-19 disease.
In Kuwait’s battle against the pandemic, a Filipino paramedic and registered nurse working in the Ministry of Health showed his real sacrifice as a healthcare worker. Garry Calub died on May 25, 2020, after contracting the disease as he served in the Emergency Medical Services. His grave was laid at the Sulaibikhat Cemetery.
I was desolated upon receiving the news about this unfortunate incident. Therefore, I give my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of Garry Calub. It is without a doubt that everyone will call him as one of the modern heroes against COVID-19.
I will express my substantial gratitude to him and all of the Filipino frontliners out there who continue to devote themselves to the safety and welfare of every person. Everyone greatly appreciates your dedication and sacrifice to curb the spread of the virus. All of your courageous deeds will be written in the face of our history. Everything will be remembered as your beautiful legacy for the whole world.
