Headaches are indeed big, no, huge pain. We also feel our surroundings tumbled down at some point due to this headache. Sometimes too we get tired of taking medicine so here are some natural remedies to help us.
Drink lots of water
Headaches can also be caused by mild dehydration. It won’t hurt to start with a glass of water in the morning and keep the other glasses of water coming in throughout the day. Start moderately though. If you have some lime or lemon near, it will give your plain water some tingly taste. Avoid too many sugary drinks.
Pressure points to be massaged
The base of the neck, the bridge of the nose, the temples and even the fleshy part between you thumb and fore finger are pressure points when massaged bring relief easing the pain.
Inhale relief
Mint leaves extract, eucalyptus leaves extract and peppermint oil are some aromatherapy natural remedies to relieve headache most especially when applied on the forehead and tip of the nose. The scent refreshes and soothes tired nerves.
Caffeine in take
If you are a heavy coffee drinker or someone very fond of tea, consider cutting down in your intake. Too much or too little of anything is harmful to your body.
Regular meals
Although diet is in, it does not necessarily mean to starve yourself and suffer from chronic headaches. Hypoglycemia or low blood sugar can also be the cause of headache. You can eat healthy, stay fit and avoid pain.
Loosen up
Many people who work with computers and sit most of the working hours, easily get headaches due to eye strain and same position daily. Consider doing some stretching of your neck, shoulders, arms and back to avoid stiffness. This also prevents tension build up that causes headache.
Much needed rest
All of us lead busy lives whatever it is that we do daily at work and at home. A short nap in the afternoon will be of great help and so does sleeping enough during night time. Watching television can be a stress reliever but not too much to deprive you of good hours of sleep.
