Honoring Mary Grace Icabandi Narido
Rest in Peace, Mary Grace Icabandi Narido.
Mary Grace, a beloved teacher in Kuwait and a proud Aklanon, faced her battle with brain cancer with immense courage and grace. Though many had hoped for her return to Aklan, it seems that God’s plan for her was different. As difficult as it is to understand, we trust in His greater purpose. As it says in Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
The Teachers Specialist Organization in Kuwait (TSOK) played a significant role in supporting Mary Grace during her fight. In a heartwarming display of solidarity and compassion, TSOK raised funds for her during the organization’s anniversary, demonstrating how deeply the teaching community cared for her well-being. Their generosity and efforts provided much-needed assistance, which Mary Grace and her family greatly appreciated. She found strength in knowing that her fellow educators stood by her, rallying behind her during such a challenging time.
Mary Grace, known for her extraordinary talent in face painting, left an indelible mark on many. Despite the hardships she endured, she remained positive and fought bravely for her family. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her achievements, including being a proud owner of Dream Catchers Perfume and her love for her Aklan roots, will always be remembered.
Likewise, her journey is a testament to the power of community and love in the face of adversity. Her strength during her battle with brain cancer resonated with many, inspiring a collective spirit of support that extended beyond her immediate circle. As she bravely faced her illness, Mary Grace became a symbol of hope for those around her. The compassion shown by the Teachers Specialist Organization in Kuwait exemplified this spirit, highlighting the profound bonds formed within the teaching community.
Not only that, but her parents and loved ones, who held onto hope for her recovery, are now left to grieve, but they can take comfort in knowing that her fight was not in vain. Mary Grace’s strength, beauty, and resilience have left a lasting impact.
To all OFWs and those working far from home, Mary Grace’s journey is a reminder to prioritize your health, rest when needed, and find peace amidst the challenges. As 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
To the Teachers Specialist Organization in Kuwait and to everyone who supported her, including ZPABLIK, God bless also your generosity and kindness. Your efforts to raise funds and assist Teacher Mary Grace during TSOK’s anniversary are a true testament to the power of community and support.
Mary Grace’s legacy goes beyond her artistic talents in face painting and her entrepreneurial spirit with Dream Catchers Perfume; it lies in her unwavering determination to uplift others, even in her journey. Her story serves as a powerful reminder to all Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to prioritize their health and well-being. As we remember Mary Grace, we honor her enduring spirit and the love that she shared with everyone, which will continue to inspire future generations.
Though she is no longer with us, Mary Grace’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
