Since March 1, 2012, the Commission on Overseas Filipinos (CFO) requires all Filipino citizens leaving the Philippines as Au Pairs to be working in Europe and the United States to register. Country Familiarization Seminar (CFS) is an integral part of the CFO registration that needs to be conducted.
The CFS prepares the au pairs about airport and travel procedures, cultural and social immersion in the host countries, health and safety issues and support system.
Who is an Au Pair then? He or she is a Filipino citizen age 18 to 30 years, unmarried and without any children, under a cultural exchange program in a European or American host family for 24 months. An Au Pair is treated like a family member who assists the host family in childcare and childcare related house chores and duties. An Au Pair can never be treated like a domestic helper.
Only the CFO Manila office conducts Country Familiarization Seminar (CFS) on a first-come, first-serve, walk in basis. Only Au Pairs with complete registration requirements will be allowed to attend the CFS. The number of attendance to the seminar is also controlled depending upon the capacity of the orientation rooms.
CFS Au Pair participants must come to CFO Manila an hour or more, ahead of the scheduled time to avoid any inconvenience.
