The most important characteristic of Filipino organizations here in Kuwait is their cooperation for a humane cause. The recent charity photo exhibit of Light Benders in partnership with Ilokana Women’s Organization in Kuwait (IWOK) and others was an event worth remembering – proceeds of the photo sale will be used to assist cancer patients. IWOK officers and members are regular visitors of cancer patients here in Kuwait sharing their time, effort and even financial assistance.
Founder and Adviser of IWOK, Ms. Trinidad Alzankawi answered three significant questions about the event; DNG: Why did you choose photography to be a medium for charity? We chose photography as a medium for charity because every image that taken has its own beauty and interpretation in life; as Charity is also beauty that comes from the heart of giving and sharing what we have and the happiness we feel every time we share our blessings. DNG: How can you describe the work of Light Benders as a whole? The work of Light Benders is very unique,well selected and has its own art of beauty and meaning that when you stare at it intently, you will appreciate the art of photography. DNG: Why are cancer patients special to IWOK? Cancer patients are special to IWOK because as we know having this illness is very difficult to cope with and accept but they are one of our inspiration because in spite of their condition, they are able to to fight, to have hope and still have strong Faith in God.
