April 2023 Special Professional Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers Board Passer: The Story of Frenel Gene Parcia

Frenel Brief Background

Frenel Gene G. Parcia is a dedicated medical receptionist with over 15 years of experience. Fluent in English and proficient in Arabic, she excels in managing inquiries and appointments and ensuring efficient medical services.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Education from Western Institute of Technology, Philippines (2001 – 2005). She also graduated from Lemery Polytechnic College, Philippines (1997 – 2001) for her high school education.

Her professional journey reflects a commitment to excellence and diverse experiences. Currently serving as a Medical Receptionist at Kana Clinic since July 2020, she has showcased her proficiency in managing a high volume of inquiries, scheduling patient appointments, and ensuring the smooth operation of medical services. Her skill set includes insurance verification, Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) management, and maintaining a comfortable and well-organized patient waiting area. Frenel’s multitasking abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and effective handling of patient concerns have consistently contributed to a positive patient experience.

Before her current role, Frenel dedicated a decade of her career to Yiaco Medical Center as a Medical Receptionist from April 2010 to July 2020. During this tenure, she honed her expertise in insurance verification, guiding patients to the appropriate clinics, and maintaining confidential records. Her commitment to exceptional customer service in a dynamic healthcare environment was evident in her role, where she ensured the organization and cleanliness of the patient waiting area.

In addition to her medical receptionist roles, Frenel served as an Executive Secretary at Dar Futooh Alasfour Consultant Engineers from May 2006 to March 2010. In this capacity, she provided invaluable support to the company owner, managing agendas, correspondence, travel arrangements, and financial documents. Her unwavering attention to detail and commitment to safeguarding sensitive information were vital in this role.

Throughout her career, Frenel Gene G. Parcia has consistently demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and a dedication to delivering exceptional service. Her journey has been marked by growth and personal development, and she eagerly anticipates the opportunities ahead in her continued professional path.

A Journey of Faith and Achievement

Her remarkable journey spans 17 years as an OFW, devoted mom, and loving wife. Her unwavering faith guided her towards achieving the status of a Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT). Frenel believed that with dedication and determination, any dream could be realized. Her path to becoming an LPT was challenging, especially during her review period.

Motivation and Legacy

Motivated by her father’s legacy as a public servant who valued education for all, Frenel was determined to continue his mission. After her father’s passing, she resolved to take the licensure exam, aspiring to establish an affordable yet excellent international school.

Determination Amid Challenges

Frenel’s attempt at the licensure exam 2019 did not yield success, but she remained resolute, trusting in God’s plan. The pandemic briefly halted her journey, but in 2023, news of a Special Professional Licensure Exam (SPLE) reignited her hope. Supported by organizations like TSOK and inspired by dedicated individuals, Frenel embraced rigorous preparation.

A Bright Future

With unyielding determination, Frenel became a Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT), a testament to her faith and persistence. As she embarks on this new journey, she underscores the importance of never giving up on dreams, regardless of age. Her inspiring journey concludes with her declaration, “I am Frenel Gene G. Parcia, LPT! I am proud to say that I believe in the saying, ‘When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.’ (Isaiah 60:22).”
