Honesto Doctolero Jr., an LPT (Licensed Professional Teacher), provided a comprehensive overview of the Teachers-Specialists Organization Kuwait (TSOK) and his pivotal role as president. Mr. Doctolero’s leadership shed light on it’s core objectives and purpose, which revolved around creating a support system for educators in Kuwait, ensuring they meet professional requirements, and keeping them updated on educational practices for global competitiveness.
Empowering Educators Through Education and Collaboration
Under President Doctolero’s guidance, it is initiated various seminars and workshops to enhance the teaching skills of its members. The organization not only focused on professional development but also strived to support members without teaching licenses by forging collaborations with other professional groups. Their advocacy included seeking representation at the Philippine Overseas Labor Employment and pushing for the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) to conduct licensing examinations for educators.
Recognition and Challenges
Mr. Doctolero touched upon the recognition of TSOK within professional organizations. While noting the existence of organizations like the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE), the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME), and the United Architects of the Philippines (UAAP), he highlighted that it had opted not to seek formal recognition from the Association of Professional Organizations (APO) in the Philippines.
Honesto’s Leadership and Collaboration Within TSOK
One of the cornerstones of TSOK’s success under Mr. Doctolero’s leadership was the meticulous adherence to the organization’s Constitution and Bylaws (CBL). Each officer within the organization played a vital role, contributing to the overall synergy and effectiveness of the organization. The president emphasized the virtues of unselfishness, diligence, and unwavering dedication among it’s officers despite the absence of financial rewards.
Prioritizing Community Service and the SPLE
Mr. Doctolero’s two-year tenure as a president was marked by the organization’s strong commitment to community service and its dedication to supporting candidates in the Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE). This endeavor showcased Mr. Doctolero’s genuine concern for the mental health and overall well-being of organization members, underlining his dedication to their success and educational growth. His leadership style emphasized a holistic approach, combining professional development with community engagement.
