What is OWWA SPIMS?
SPIMS stands for “Sa ‘Pinas Ikaw ang Ma’am at Sir,” and it is an employment reintegration program that enables OFWs who have passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) to work as elementary and junior high school teachers in various public schools. OWWA’s role is to streamline the program for easy implementation, benefiting regular beneficiaries.
QUALIFICATIONS
– Must be a Filipino citizen
– An OFW LET passer with a minimum of 1 year (12 months) accumulated teaching experience within the last five years.
– Should not have stayed in the country for more than three years upon arrival.
REQUIREMENTS
1. OWWA Application form (Available at NRCO)
2. Passport or any valid I.D (Available at DFA)
3. Copy of Certificate of Board Rating (Available at PRC)
4. Copy of Certificate of Employment abroad or any supporting documents (Available at POEA)
5. Copy of Certificate of Employment as a teacher (if available) (Obtain from your Employer)
6. Copy of Passport (including the pages with arrival and departure stamps) (Available at DFA).
How to Apply for the “Sa Pinas Ikaw ang Ma’am at Sir” Program Online?
1. Complete the online application form via this link – https://nrco.owwa.gov.ph/index.php/programs-and-services/sa-pinas-ikaw-ang-ma-am-sir-program
2. The SPIMS Team will respond with the requirements.
3. Submit the requirements via email.
4. Once accepted, you will be asked for your school assignment, where you can choose your preferred school for teaching.
5. You will receive the Notice of School Assignment (NOScA).
6. With the NOScA, you will be assigned an ‘item’ automatically.
How to Apply for the OWWA SPIMS Program via the OWWA office
Step 1: Visit the nearest OWWA/POLO Regional Office.
Step 2: Inquire about the application process for OWWA SPIMS.
Step 3: Submit your requirements to the SPIMS Officer of the day.
Step 4: As directed by the SPIMS Officer of the Day, complete the online refresher course.
Step 5: If a refresher course is not required, your requirements will be retained by NRCO for submission to the Department of Education.
Step 6: The SPIMS Secretariat will email you confirmation for further evaluation.
