Sister Jenny B. Vergara has dedicated over 15 years to serving the Lord through her remarkable singing talent at the Paraiso United Methodist Church (PUMC). Her journey as a choir member and leader within PUMC began during adolescence when she discovered that her music trainer, Mrs. Milagros Matias, was also a church member. From that moment, her life became intricately intertwined with music and faith.
Sister Jeanny’s Devotion Through Music
As a highly gifted individual, Sister Jenny uses her voice as a powerful instrument to express her devotion to God. She not only sings but also actively participates in various roles within the church. Her responsibilities extend to being a church pianist, worship leader, member of the technical team, and even serving as the treasurer. Her multifaceted involvement reflects her dedication to the church community.
Unwavering Commitment Amid Challenges
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Sister Jeanny’s commitment to her musical service never wavered. She continued to sing solo, both within and outside the church. Her favorite worship song, “I Surrender All” from The United Methodist Hymnal (No. 354), holds a special place in her heart and is a testament to her unwavering faith.
Masterful Time Management
Jenny is an excellent time manager, efficiently balancing her personal, social, and professional life alongside her numerous roles within PUMC. Her roles include singing worship songs, financial responsibilities, leading worship sessions, and overseeing the technical team. Through the trying times of the COVID-19 pandemic, her singing remained a source of motivation as she continued her role as a choir leader.
Inspiring Others to Serve God
Jenny acknowledges the challenges of encouraging fellow PUMC members to join the choir and contribute their voices to the service of God. When asked how she plans to inspire others to be active in the church, she expressed her commitment to help and teach others based on her extensive experience as a choir member.
Sharing Faith and Talent
Her first-hand experiences serve as a powerful attraction to fellow Christians, motivating them to return to their faith and engage in serving God. She intends to share her knowledge, techniques, and songs with her fellow choir members, inspiring them to strengthen their faith.
A Vision for the Church’s Future
When questioned about her contributions as a choir leader to the church’s future and aspirations, Jeanny echoed her desire to share her experiences and ideas with her fellow choir members. Her aim is not only to inspire future PUMC choir members but also to make a positive impact on other PUMC members and the broader community.
