ANNOUNCEMENT
This is to inform the public that the implementation of the unit requirement for the major component or area of specialization for graduates of non-education courses for purposes of the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) as provided under Board Resolution No. 34 (s. 2022) is suspended.
The appropriate major component or area of specialization for graduates of non-education courses starting March 2024 LEPT shall be determined in accordance with Board Resolution No. 51 (s. 2016), until further notice.
Further, the filing of applications for the March 2024 LEPT for graduates of non-education courses shall be re-opened from February 6, 2024, to February 16, 2024.
The announcement informs the public that a requirement regarding the number of units in specific subjects for graduates who did not major in education, which was necessary to take the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), is currently not in effect. This means that graduates from non-educational courses do not need to fulfill this specific unit requirement for now. Instead, the subjects required for these graduates to take the LEPT will be determined according to a different resolution, specifically Board Resolution No. 51 from 2016, until there’s a new update or directive.
Additionally, the announcement states that the application period for the March 2024 LEPT for graduates of non-education courses will be reopened. This means that those who missed the previous application window or those who wish to apply now have the opportunity to do so. The application period will be from February 6, 2024, to February 16, 2024. So, if you’re a non-education graduate planning to take the LEPT in March 2024, you can submit your application during this period.
