The Prestigious Diplomatic Night 2016
The 118th Philippine Independence Day Celebration in Kuwait commenced with the prestigious Diplomatic Night 2016 a few days ago on May 29th, at the Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel. Like the other Diplomatic Night reception events to which I had the opportunity to have been invited, I was star struck once again by all the personalities that I met that night. Everyone carried himself / herself well with confidence. They were the mark of true OFWs – blending among all the other expatriate population guests and Kuwaiti nationals, yet maintaining their essence as Filipino migrants. Some familiar faces I was able to talk with while other guests I met for the first time. Meeting both groups renewed in me the spirit of patriotism because there I was, far from my homeland, the Philippines, yet I was celebrating Philippine Independence Day in the host country.
Since I met Engr. Abdullah Guinda of Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) Kuwait Chapter and his pretty wife Mam Bainorhan Midtimbang a few years ago, I have always been inspired by their graciousness and respectable character. They look very good together and they make me feel good each time I am with them.
Thank you once again to His Excellency Ambassador Renato P. O. Villa and his wife, for the invitation to join Diplomatic Night 2016. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! Mabuhay ang Lahing Pilipino!
