Turning to Faith in Times of Uncertainty
Life is unpredictable. In an instant, everything can change—whether due to natural calamities, accidents, or unexpected struggles. As humans, we instinctively look for safety nets, places of refuge where we can seek help and assurance. For those of us living in Kuwait, we turn to 112, the country’s emergency hotline, believing that help will come when we need it most. We feel safe knowing that professionals are ready to respond in times of crisis.
But in our reliance on earthly assistance, we often forget about the greatest protector of all—God. Unlike emergency services, God does not need a hotline or a number to be reached. He does not require waiting time or conditions before He listens. He is always present, ready to hear our prayers and guide us through the toughest moments.
God’s Presence in Times of Trouble
When disasters strike, we often feel helpless and afraid. We try to prepare as much as pos
sible, but some situations are beyond our control. This is why having a strong faith in God is just as important as any physical preparation.
It is natural to panic in difficult times, but keeping a peaceful and faithful heart allows us to think clearly and make wise decisions. God gives us the strength to endure hardships and the courage to move forward. He does not always remove the obstacles in our path, but He walks with us through every challenge, ensuring that we are never alone.
Many of us only remember to call on God when we are in danger, but prayer should not only be for emergencies. We can speak to Him at any time—to thank Him for His blessings, to ask for guidance, to seek forgiveness, or simply to share our thoughts. There are no limits to what we can bring before God, for He listens with a loving heart and answers in ways we may not always understand.
“We are to love God with all our mind as well as our heart.” (Matthew 22:37)
A Personal Testimony of God’s Grace
As an OFW in Kuwait, I have faced my own share of struggles—being away from family, adjusting to a foreign land, and experiencing personal hardships. But through it all, God has never abandoned me. I am living proof of His answered prayers. Everything I have today—my job, my strength, and my survival—is because of His grace. There were moments when I felt lost, but every time I turned to Him, He guided me back on the right path.
I know many of my fellow Kabayan have their own stories of faith, moments where they felt God’s presence in their lives. Whether through small miracles or life-changing experiences, we are reminded that God is always working behind the scenes, shaping our future in ways we may not yet see.
Faith: The Ultimate Source of Protection
Life will always bring uncertainties, and we will always encounter storms along the way. But no matter how difficult things get, we are never alone. God walks beside us, offering His love, protection, and guidance.
To my fellow Kabayan, I encourage you to hold on to your faith in God. In moments of fear, uncertainty, or loneliness, remember that Heaven is just a prayer away. Trust in His timing, and believe in His plan for you.
No matter where we are in the world, we are safe in His hands.
