Ramadan is the Holy Month for all Muslims around the world and during my first Ramadan here in Kuwait, it was not an easy adjustment for me – as I love food, juices and coffee. But over the years, I learned to observe and practice the things an expat has to do during Ramadan.
Under Islamic law, children who have not yet reached puberty are not required to observe fasting. But families with children this age, teach them about devotion, generosity, good attitude and self-control.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and Muslims around the world observe this as a month of fasting. The yearly observance is considered as one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
